Inquiry against MIT Principal :: Probe likely to get over by November 20

The one-man inquiry committee of retired IAS officer RK Angousana set up by the governing body of Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT) to investigate misappropriation charges against its former Principal Dr Th Kullachandra is likely to complete its proceedings by November 20. According to a reliable source, Governor of Manipur Ashwani Kumar has asked about the progress of the inquiry committee set up to look into misappropriation charges against the former Principal of MIT.
He has also instructed the authorities concerned to expedite the inquiry.
Following Governor�s intervention, the proceedings of the inquiry committee are said to be going in full swing and the inquiry is likely to get over by November 20.The inquiry committee is investigating whether former Principal Dr Kullachandra had misappropriated the funds of the institute during his tenure from 2011 to September, 2013 and mismanaged the institute in utter disregard of the welfare of students and teachers.
The governing body of MIT would decide the course of action against Dr Kullachandra only after receiving the report of the inquiry committee.
Meanwhile, a source informed that the inquiry committee set up to investigate the case of assaulting Assistant Professor Dr Hanjabam Sukhadev of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University by the Director of Academic Staff College of Manipur University Professor Moirangthem Mani during an orientation class is also likely to complete its proceedings within a short time.
