One 63 year old woman and a 32 year old man were found dead inside their rooms in two incidents under suspicious circumstances today.

Momon was a native of Ikou village, Imphal East district but she had been living in the rented room of one Achoibam Naba at Napet Palli since the past 8/9 years.
She used to earn her livelihood by vending vegetables.
She was married to Chandam Ibocha of Malom but they were living separately since a long time back.
When Bala came to visit her mother Momon, the room was found locked from outside.
But when it was broken open, Momon was found dead on her bed.
Bala is also a vegetable vendor at Khurai Lamlong.
Momon used to procure vegetables from her daughter and vend them at Napetpalli.
As her mother did not come to collect vegetables during the last couple of days, Bala came to enquire about her mother today.
She had already asked about her mother at Ikou but she could not get any clear answer.
Momon's vendor stall at Napet Palli was seen shut since the past two/three days, said some people of the neighbourhood.
Momon's body has been deposited at JNIMS mortuary.
Meanwhile, the Chingtam Peace and Development Organisation (CPDO) has urged the authority concerned to identify all the culprits and establish the circumstances under which the 63 year old woman was killed as soon as possible.
Taking strong exception to the mysterious death/murder of the woman, a press release issued by CPDO maintained that all those found guilty should be awarded exemplary punishment.
On the other hand, Longjam Ranjan (32) s/o late Ibohal of Kekru Makha Leikai, Thoubal district under Yairipok police station was found dead inside his room at around 2.30 pm.
Wounds made by sharp objects were seen on his chest and abdomen.

When police reached the scene, the body was found lying in front of the bed.
Two pieces of ropes and a knife were recovered from the room, said a police source.
The floor was also seen stained with blood.
Police have picked up the corpse.
