SHIPS founder president Paokhogin no more

Founder president of Sadar Hills Private Schools' (SHIPS) Association Paokhogin Kipgen alias Pagin passed away on Monday at about 9.55 pm at his residence at Vengthah Ward No 3 in Kangpokpi town.
He was 49 and survived by wife Hechong Kipgen, one son and two daughters.
Born on April 11, 1972 at Kangpokpi Christian Hospital (Mission), Pagin Kipgen became an influential and eminent educationist in Kangpokpi at a very young age.
In 2007, under his initiative, Sadar Hills Private' Schools' Association was established to streamline the functioning and administration of private schools in the district and also to tackle the various issues and problems faced by private schools in the district.
A down to earth and man of integrity, Pagin Kipgen passionately served as the principal of Diamond English High School, Kangpokpi town till his last breath.
Though very soft spoken and gentle, he was tough enough in building the career of hundreds of students who now are serving the state and the nation in various capacities, some in the armed forces and some in civil administration.
The social media platform has been flooded with condolence messages since Monday evening from various student bodies, prominent leaders of various communities particularly from the education field, local bodies, near and dear ones from far and near.
Local Ml A Nemcha Kipgen expressed shock and sadness over the untimely demise of Pagin Kipgen and wrapped a traditional shawl 'Saipikhup' over his mortal remains as a mark of tribute while former minister and veteran Kuki politician Thangminlen Kipgen also participated in the funeral ceremony on Tuesday.
TSA Sadar Hills also expressed deep condolences over Pagin's untimely demise and took part in the funeral ceremony while the local bodies, Kangpokpi Town Committee, Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship, Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organisation, and Kangpokpi Youth Union apart from individuals from many other cities also attended the funeral ceremony.
SHIPS leaders also paid the highest tribute to its founding president and wrapped a traditional shawl during his last rite while offering deepest condolence to the bereaved family.
His friends whom he had a very close relationship for the development of Kangpokpi town especially in the education sector who were known by the name GUDUP also paid their highest tribute and bid adieu with presentation of traditional shawl.
