Police treasure public support to anti-drug campaign

Senapati, September 20 2022:
Senapati district superintendent of police (SP) Karthik Malladi on Tuesday expressed gratitude and appreciated the village chiefs/chairmen and Village Authorities of Ngatan, Taphou Kuki, Makuilongdi, Kamalong, Yangkhullen, Razing & Raipikilung, Sadim & Oklong villages for extending support to the government's "War on Drugs" mission initiated by chief minister N Biren, through total prohibition of poppy cultivation in areas under their respective villages.
In a release, the SP mentioned that all the villag es will be acknowledged through presentation of Certificate of Appreciation along with a cash reward by the district administration during the Republic Day Celebration, 2023.He also informed that efforts are being made to tie up with Agriculture and Horticulture department to extend all possible support to these villages on priority basis under government schemes for alternate crops.
Further, Karthik Malladi appealed to the public to report any activities related to preparations for poppy cultivation in any part of Senapati District to Police Control Room on (8798198810) or to SP-Senapati (9873813093) without delay.
