COVID warriors stage protest

In protest against termination of COVID warriors from their contract service and demanding an appointment with the chief minister to hold talk on the matter, members of All Manipur COVID Warriors' Association staged a sit-in-protest at Malom Tulihal Makha Leikai here on Monday.
Association joint secretary Human Chabungbam told media persons at the protest venue that termination of COVID warriors from their service completed 21 days on Monday and the association approached the chief minister, Governor and BJP Manipur Pradesh president for having a talk on the matter.
However, no response is forthcoming from any of the state leaders till date, he said and warned of launching intense forms of agitation including imposition of general strike if the government fails to hold talk with the terminated COVID warriors soon.
He also said that around 1200 COVID warriors including drivers, nurses and MTS were terminated from their service all of sudden on March 25 .
