Imphal, October 28 2013:
Other than the four persons who have submitted their nomination forms seeking Congress ticket for the Lok Sabha election in Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency, MPCC has been informally lobbying with the AICC for a fifth man.
Notably, AICC nominated Rishang Keishing as Rajya Sabha Member last time, leaving out all other candidates who were seeking the Rajya Sabha seat.
Meanwhile, seasoned politician O Joy has claimed that some political parties and individuals suggested him to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.
"However, I have not taken any decision on the matter", he added.
"Some political parties expressed their desire that I should contest the Lok Sabha election but I have not given any commitments", said Joy who is also MPP advisor.
"In case high-commands of National political parties offer me their party ticket to fight the Lok Sabha election, I can take a decision in consultation with the people of my Assembly Constituency", Joy conveyed.
He maintained that he would not accept any such condition like 'admit to national political parties first' .
On the other hand, Trinamool Congress State unit president Kim Gangte claimed that the party's high command has asked her to fight the Lok Sabha election in Outer Manipur P/C.As for the Inner Manipur P/C, the party has not taken any decision to field a candidate or not, Kim Gangte said.
Information received from Naga People's Front (NPF) said that the party would definitely put up candidate in Outer Manipur P/C and the candidate's name would be announced very soon.
NPF would not fight for Inner Manipur Parliamentary seat but it would support the party/candidate who can defeat the Congress candidate.
Meanwhile, NPF president Soso Lorho has given his consent on former Minister Morung Makunga joining the party.
