Maintaining that a group of people comprising of students and women activists were holding a peaceful demonstration by shouting slogans at the gate of the Court, Sorojini clarified that the demonstrators never tried to barge into the Court complex.
However, police snatched away placards and grabbed girls and women demonstrators by hair and thrashed them mercilessly.
Saying that many injured women and girls are still undergoing treatment at different hospitals, Sorojini questioned why police wanted to support accused William and Tarun.
She also urged the Home Minister and DGP to take action against the police personnel involved in the incident.
Demanding speedy trial of the case through a fast track court, Sorojini said that accused Tarun and William must be given befitting punishment at the earliest.
