Books on Kachai Lemon, history of Manipur released

A book on Kachai lemon titled "Aeromycology over Kachai Lemon Plantation in Eastern Himalayan Region" written by Manipur University's Life Science Department retired professor N Irabanta has been released by MU vice chancellor Prof N Lokendra at the VC Committee Room on Saturday.
Speaking at the event, Prof Lokendra informed that the book will be made available for readers and research scholars of different countries including in Latin America, Europe and Russia.
He also stated that the book contains details on nutritional values and measures to combat diseases on Kachai Lemons, which is known for its high quantity of ascorbic acid content.
On the other-hand, a book penned by Dhanashyam Wahengba and titled 'Kunsuba Chaheecha Mamanggee Kan gleipakkee Khoreerol Neinana' was released on Saturday in an event organised by Angom Ningthou Preservation and Documentation Centre, Uripok Achom Leikai at Manipur Hindi Parishad in Imphal.
The release function was attended by Manipuri Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi New Delhi convenor Nongmaithem Kirankumar, Manipur University of Culture assistant professor Makhonmani Mongshaba and playwright BK Wahengba as the chief guest, president and special guest respectively.
Department of Manipuri, Manipur University associate professor Dr Chirom Rajketan shared his views on the book as a part of the event.
