Imphal, October 26 2021:
Communist Party of India (CPI) would be organising nationwide protest from November 26 to December 6 to safeguard Constitution of India and social justice, informed CPI Manipur State Council secretary L Sotinkumar.
In a statement, Sotinkumar stated that the poor and middle class families are facing immense hardships amid the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic situation due to ever rising prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas and other essential commodities under the pro-corporate economic policy of the BJP-led government.
The nationwide protest is to be launched against the attempt being made to undermine the Constitutional values and social justice by the government which has turned into crony capitalism for a handful of corporate houses.
The 11-day protest will also be organised in different parts of the state along with campaigns against the Hindutva agenda of RSS and BJP, which has turned upside down the structure of federalism, he said, adding that the decision was taken by the party's national council.
The national council meeting held from October 2 to 4 in New Delhi also voiced strong resentment against the unscrupulous price rise of essential commodities, record unemployment issue, privatisation of PSUs, arresting intellectuals under sedition law for raising dissenting views against the failed policies of the government, discrimination against tribal, Dalit and backward classes among other key issues that the country is faeing under the BJP government, the statement informed.
