Violence antithesis to development: Letpao Haokip

A newly constructed building of All Moreh Auto Rickshaw Owners & Drivers' Welfare Association was inaugurated by TA & Hills minister Letpao Haokip on Monday.
The inauguration function held at the hall of the association's new building was also attended by Moreh additional DC Laisham Bobi Singh, BTCC Moreh president V Shekhar and MPF chairman Rev Ngamhao Touthang besides community leaders of Moreh and members of the association.
Speaking as chief guest, Letpao Haokip stressed that peace is inevitable to bring development just as utensils are required for having food.
Sincerity of auto rickshaw and taxi operators could determine development of a city or town, he said and appealed to auto and taxi drivers to be sincere in rendering their service to passengers/commuters.
He also said that a foreigner could easily determine development of a city or town through the conduct of auto and taxi drivers.
While appealing to all the communities settling in Moreh to maintain peace and tranquillity so as to bring speedy development in the border town, Letpao cautioned that violence would never bring development.
Later, the minister donated some amount from his monthly salary to the association.
