Nemcha attends Board of Trade meeting

New Delhi, September 13 2022:
Textiles, Commerce & Industry minister Nemcha Kipgen on Tuesday attended the Board of Trade meeting organised by the Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry at the Convention Hall, The Ashok, New Delhi.
Union minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal chaired the meeting which was also-attended by Union ministers of state for commerce and industry Som Prakash and Anupriya Patel amongst others.
While addressing the gathering, minister Nemcha said that Manipur being located along the trade route to South-East Asian countries deserves more focus.
She also mentioned that strengthening of border trade through Moreh and setting up Border Haats at Behiang and New Somtal need to be expedited.
Nemcha Kipgen also drew attention on development of infrastructure and to place more human resources.
E-visa, transport protocol and international flights will help in trade as well as people to people connect, she asserted.
Additional chief secretary (Planning) Vunlummang; Textiles, Commerce & Industry Manipur commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jha accompanied the minister during the meeting.
It is pertinent to mention that such Board meeting headed by Union minister for commerce and industry provides an opportunity to have regular discussions and consultation with trade and industry and advise the government on policy measures related to Foreign Trade Policy in order to achieve the objective of boosting India's trade coupled with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
