Imphal, March 22 2014 :
The Students' Union of Kangleipak (SUK) has urged the Nirmalabas High School authority and one Nongthombam Ghanashyam of Pishum Oinam Leikai to appear at the office of the students' union on March 24 and clarify alleged connivance in the school's admission process.
Speaking to reporters at its head office at Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai, SUK general secretary, Ashokumar Thongamcha said that one N Ghanashyam took Rs 14,000 from W Bedajit of Heirangoithong Yangam Leirak on Dec 23 last year with a promise to secure the admission of the later's niece to Nirmalabas HS.
Neither the girl was admitted to the school nor the money was refunded till the end of the admission process.
Helpless Bedajit then approached SUK for redressal of his grievances, Ashok-kumar said.
When interrogated by the students' body, Ghanashyam said he was not an employee of NBS.
He however confessed to have acted as an admission agent for the school since long time back, Ashokkumar said.
