10 file their nomination papers for Inner seat

With three more aspiring candidates today filing their nomination papers to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha election for the seat of Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency, the total number of candidates who have submitted their nomination papers has risen to 10 .
Today was the last day of filing the nomination papers for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
While Lamlalmoi alias Momoi Gangte of Longpi village, Tamenglong; and M Khamchinpau Zou of Zoveng Hmar village, Churachandpur filed their nomination papers to contest in the Lok Sabha election for the Outer seat as candidates of Communist Party of India (ML) and Aam Aadmi Party (APP) respectively, Amarson Sankhil of Thamnapokpi village, Chandel district submitted his nomination paper as an Independent candidate before the Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal Th Ranjit, who is also the Returning officer, today.
Earlier, seven candidates namely sitting MP Thangso Baite of Indian National Congress, former MP Kim Gangte for Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress, former Minister Prof Gangmumei Kamei for BJP, JD-U candidate Lein Gangte for JD-U, Soso Lorho for Naga People's front (NPF), C Doungel for Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Mani Charenamei as Independent candidate have already filed their nomination papers to contest in the election for the Outer seat.
The scrutiny of the nomination papers for the Outer seat would be carried out on March 24.The last date for the withdrawal of nomination papers or candidatures is March 26 and the polling would be done on April 9 .
Out of 10 candidates, six are from Kuki community while the remaining four from Naga community.
As for the seat of Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency which would go to poll on April 17, so far only one candidate from Manipur Democratic Front (MDPF)�Dr Gurumayum Tonsana�has filed his nomination paper to contest in the election.
Nominees of State Trinamool Congress Sarangthem Manaobi, BJP's Dr RK Ranjan, INC's Dr T Meinya, CPI's Dr M Nara and independent candidate Oinam Indira are likely to file their nomination papers on March 24, according to respective party sources.
