Memorandum submitted to the Governor

Imphal, June 25 2017:
Representatives of Chingmei, Keibul, Sangram Chaokhat ThourangLup, KeibulLamjao met Governor Dr Najma Heptulla at Raj Bhavan yesterday and submitted a memorandum demanding the authority concerned to take up necessary steps to provide alternative source oflivelihood for the people living in the surrounding areas of Keibul Lamjao National Park.
The memorandum contained various demands including providing of alternative source of livelihood, resettlement package, clean water supply for all households, organising Sangai Festival every year at Keibul Lamjao, conversion of Atoyaima Aided Junior School to a Government School, providing the entitled benefits to farmers, improving eco-tourism in the surrounding areas of Keibul Lamjao National park and to let the people participate in saving Sangai.
The Governor assured to take up every possible steps to help the people and to preserve Sangai.
