The Khongjom Day was observed by various organization/groups on April 23 to remember the sacrifices made by various freedom fighters of Manipur.
BJP: BJP Manipur Pradesh held observation programme of Khongjom Day at the BJP office in the presence of BJP State President, Th Chaoba.
Floral tributes were paid to late freedom fighter 'Paona Brajabasi' on the occasion.
Protection and Preservation Committee Manipur (PPCM) and CSO's apex organization also held observation programme of Khongjom Day.
Floral tributes were made at Kongjom War Memorial site.
DESAM: Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) observed 'Khongjom Day' along with Tribal Students Union (TSU) and DM College Commerce Students' Union on Thursday.
The observation was conducted along with DESAM's ongoing 'Clean City Drive' at DM College Campus along with 65 volunteers, said a press release issued by DESAM Publicity & Propaganda Secretary, Premchand Tongbram.
HLMTCA: Annual Khongjom Day was observed by Manipur People's Party (MPP) on Thursday at MPP Conference Hall.
The MPP President N Sobhakiran was in the chair, said a press release issued by MPP General Secretary, Y Bhim.
Huyen Lallong Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association (HLMTCA) also observed Khongjom Day on Thursday in the association's office at Irilbung with its Founder, Gourakishor Sharma as the chief guest of the programme, said a press release issued by of HLMTCA Publicity Secretary, Dorendro Laimayum.
IMF: Khongjom Day was celebrated by International Meeteis Forum (IMF) on Thursday at 10:30am at its Head Office, Yaiskul Moirangkhom under the chairmanship of IMF President, N Basanta.
Floral tributes were paid to the photographs of the freedom fighters as a part of the programme, This was states in a press release issued by IMF General Secretary, Th Netrajit.
ANUL: Apunba Nupi Lup (ANUL) observed 124th Khongjom Day on Thursday at the office of ANUL.
Floral tributes to the late freedom fighters and 2 minute silence were held at the programme.
'Tarpon' rituals were conducted for the departed souls of the freedom fighters.
NIPCO Vice �President, Oinam Premjit spoke about the programme, said a press release issued by ANUL Publicity Secretary, Laishangbam Noyoni.
All Assam Manipur Students Association NDC, Manipur Cultural Society Assam, Apunba Nupi Lup Assam and Aeiba Lup Assam Hojai also held observation programme of Khongjom Day by offering flowers at the statue of 'Paona Brajabasi' near Gita Mandir.
It was organized by All Assam Manipur Students Association NDC.
Patriotic Writers' Forum Manipur (PWFM) along with seven other Club/Organization of Thoubal Leishangthem area also held observation programme of Khongjom Day at Thoubal Leishangthem Lairembi Community Hall at 11am.'Youth & Children Literary Meet 2015' was also held as a part of the programme.
