Reflection on pioneering spirit marks TNCL Post Golden Jubilee celebration in Ukhrul

Commemorating over five decades' eventful journey, the Tangkhul Naga Contractor Long (TNCL) Thursday celebrated its Post Golden Jubilee with glorious spirit and fervor here at TNCL Office Site-PWD Complex and Ukhrul Town Hall intermittently.
Attending the function as Chief Guest, 44 Ukhrul MLA Samuel Risom unveiled the Jubilee Monolith erected at TNCL Site in the presence of Ukhrul DC Hrisheekesh Modak, TNL president V Weapon Zimik, Ukhrul SP Ningshem Vashum, TNCL President AS Clement and representatives of All Manipur Contractors Association, All Tribal Contractors' Association among others.
In his address at Town Hall, MLA Risom recollected how TNCL pioneers persevered to carry out their task of building various infrastructures in the district in the face of myriad hurdles, while citing construction of Ukhrul-Litan road and Shangshak road without compromising quality in 1942 .
Calling upon the district contractors to take all sorts of obstacles in their stride, he appealed to TNCL members to go for high and competitive bidding for contract works so as to build better and wider road infrastructures in the district.
Congratulating TNCL on the auspicious occasion, Ukhrul DC Modak said that contractors are instrumental in the infrastructural development around us and that this is the day we ought to acknowledge the good service that TNCL has been rendering for the last 50 years for the development in the district.
He also appealed to TNCL to continue to focus on quality in the execution of all works.
TNL President Zimik lauded the positive contribution of TNCL, while SP Vashum felt that in as much as the society expect a lot from TNCL, the public have to support the contractors' body.
Punctuated by intertainment items, the celebration also witnessed live performance by popular Tangkhul singer Shimreingam while standup comedian Pakmi Mahongnao had the crowd dissolving into laughter with his witty sense of humour.
Jubilee Flag was hoisted by pioneer Pam Raleng while advisor AS Khathing dehoisted the flag.
During the function, TNCL Souvenir and Memento were released by its pioneers Aring Leisan and Shangreingam Muivah while Invocation and benediction of the function were pronounced by UBC Pastor Revd Remember Rimai and UTBC Pastor Revd Somi Kasomwoshi respectively.
The Post Jubilee celebration was largely attended by functionaries of different contractors' associations of the State and village chiefs of Hunphun and Hungpung Viullages and representatives of 27 localities of Ukhrul Town.
