Challenge Cup Veteran Football: KSC beat IEVFA; TRVSA share point with VBFAM

KSC Nambulan registered win while TRVSA and VBFAM shared points in the league matches of the 17th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament being played under the supervision of Manipur Veteran Football Association (MVFA) at Mapal Kangjeibung on Thursday.
KSC scored one goal in each halves to registered a comfortable 2-1 win over Imphal East Veteran Football Association (IEVFA) Salanthong.
IEVFA started the match with a series of raids and was rewarded when E Premjoy found the net of KSC to take the lead.

KSC did not wilt under the sudden goal and press hard to get back the deficit.
After a series of unsuccessful attempts, KSC finally found the target two minute before the breather (28th min) of the match through Khangjalal to the relief of KSC support staff and players.
After the change of ends, KSC thump their authority by scoring a goal in 33rd min through Paominthang Kipgen to take the lead.
IEVFA tried hard to get back the deficit goal but KSC defenders did not offer any scoring opportunity and defended the one goal lead till the final whistle to registered the match in their name.
TRVSA, Malom and VBFAM, Keishampat took the field for the second match of the day.
TRVSA and VBFAM settle down after some early exchanges.
Both the teams tried to control the mid filed to launch attacks.
The first half could not produce any goal and both the teams walked to their dressing room with high hopes.
After the breather, TRVSA and VBFAM players engaged in hot pursuit of the elusive goal.
M Ranjit broke the deadlock in 50th min in favour of TRVSA..
VBFAM put more men in front to get the equalizer during the last 10 min.
TRVSA's hard work was destroyed when they conceded a freak goal, scored by I Momon, in the 60+2 min to the delight of VBFAM players and supporters and left TRVSA dejected.
Finally, the match ended in 1-1 .
