CM chairs meet on Myanmar incursion

Imphal, April 23 2015 :
Chief Minister O Ibobi convened a meeting of the combined headquarters this afternoon and deliberated on the reported incursion by Myanmarese army at Choro Khunou village of Ukhrul district.
At the end of the meeting, Ukhrul district administration was instructed to submit a factual report by tomorrow.
The meeting presided by the Chief Minister was attended by the Chief Secretary, DGP, Ukhrul DC, high ranking officials of Home Department and officers of AR, army, BSF and CRPF.
The Ukhrul DC informed that an Additional SP and a SDO have been sent to Choro Khunou to collect a first hand information about the incursion.
The AR officers too said that they have sent their men to find out the truth.
They maintained that the Myan-marese army was opposing development of a trade centre by Kuki people settled there.
According to the AR officers, the area was a disputed site and each plot of the trade centre being developed there was sold at Rs 1000 .
On their part, the army officers said that they would raise the matter at the next bilateral sector level meeting between Myanmar army and Indian army.
After due deliberation, the meeting agreed to suspend all construction works at the disputed site.
