Ukhrul, November 22 2015:
Laying the groundwork for incorporating youngsters in building the contemporary Tangkhul society through "youth empowerment", the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) on Saturday organized the first phase of its sustained mission in "Counselling on Career and Personality Development" for students at its Assembly Hall.
Speaking as the resource person at the programme, General Secretary Nobert Khayi underscored the need for the youth to develop the quality of personal strength in the face of myriad difficult situations by neutralizing negative feelings like anger, hatred and fear with forgiveness.
Stating that it takes a right decision to choose the right career, Khayi urged the students not to lose their self esteems but to realize their respective god given talents so as to participate in shaping the community.
He also called upon the young participants to develop a sense of respect for older citizens and pay careful attention to their advices in order to grow strong.
The first phase counseling event was participated by a total of 480 students drawn from various schools and colleges like Little Angel Higher Secondary School, Ukhrul Higher Secondary School, Sentinel College and St Joseph College.
Meanwhile, speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Nobert Khayi informed that this first phase event was purely a groundwork for the upcoming chain of career and personality development oriented programs.
"The second phase of counseling will take place soon after the terminal examinations of all schools and colleges are over," Nobert Khayi said adding that the efforts towards this direction will continue until the students and youths realize their goal and objectives in life.
TNL also urged all experts and counselors in different fields to support and take part in the next session of the mission, which it observed, is the only way to reach out to the younger generation and empower them for a better tomorrow.
