AMSU bans Coca Cola in Manipur

All Manipur Student Union (AMSU) banned Coca Cola products in Manipur from today.
This was announced in a press meet held at its office located at DM College campus today.
Speaking to the media person Secretary general of AMSU Manjit Sarangthem said that on August 29, 2016, volunteers of AMSU came across some 1000 bottles of Coca Cola soft drink at BSR enterprises MG.
Avenue Imphal at which the manufacturing date and the expiry date were found tempered.
He further added that AMSU summoned the three dealers who are responsible namely SK Enterprises Imphal, SB enterprises and BS Enterprises and one name Bikram who live in rented room at Nongmeibung to give details to the public on or before September 15 however accept BS enterprises the other two did not turn up.
He further said that it has been understood that these local had been conspiring with non local representatives of the coca cola company in order to exploit the innocent public of Manipur which AMSU takes very seriously.
Under the consumer protection act 1986 and the food safety and standard act 2006 of the central government those found guilty are punishable but government of Manipur is not taking up any action against the conspirers.
The students' body later declared that no agents of Coca Cola products can distribute or sale in the state until justice is done under the consumers protection act 1986 and the food safety and standards act 206 clause no.60 .
