Mob punish police constable for misusing power

Imphal, September 18 2016:
An angry mob on Sunday punished a police constable who misused his power by harassing 3 civilians who were on their way to pay tribute to the ancestors at Khongjom on occasion of tarpan observance.
According to report reaching here, the police constable halt three persons who were coming to join the Khonjom Tarpan near the entry gate of Khongjom War Memorial Complex in Thoubal district and forced them frog jump.
On seeing the incident those who were gathering at Tarpan observance site came out and over power the police constable forced him do the same he had did to the three civilian.
Later, the mob handed him over to Khonjom police station.
A complaint against the police constable has been lodged by the Khongjom War Memorial Trust.
The police constable has been identified as Laishram Rajesh Singh, constable No.7849, a resident of Lamding Laishram Leikai of Khangabok Assembly constituency.
The three civilians at which he forced to perform frog jump are identified as Md.Ibocha, Md.Asique and Md.Safiruddin of Sangaiyumpham Mairen khun Mayai Leikai of Wangjing Tentha Assembly constituency.
