Chandel, November 20 2013:
The residents of Sulam Area, one of the five areas of Chandel district which lies between the district head quarter Chandel and Myanmar and inhabited jointly by Naga and Kuki communities, began to see a new hope of life when the constructed work along their main lifeline stretching from Monsang Pantha to Dutahng via Larong and Libung, covering a distance of about 40 km, started officially on November 18 by a Bull dozer from the Monsang Pantha point of the road.
Expressing happiness over the development, General Secretary of Sulam Area Chiefs' Association (SACA) and Chief of Larong village Ts Kanlun informed that MLA of 41 AC Chandel St Nunghlung Victor has initiated the work after taking into consideration of their long felt need.
While appreciating the help of the MLA, Kanlun said, "Once the road is completed problems of connectivity and accessibility in respect of Sulam residents will be soon over and we will be able to celebrate a good time during Christmas this year.
It would be the greatest gift of Christmas' .
