Imphal, November 20 2013:
The Coordination Committee (CorCom) of KCP, KYKL, PREPAK, PREPAK (PRO), RPF and UNLF has warned the people not to indulge in unfair practice of mob trial.
According to a statement issued by the CorCom, those people found indulging in mob trials would be given befitting punishment.
In the past few years, some people in collusion with Indian security forces had burned down houses and ostracized those sympathizers who paved ways for the youths to join the revolutionary movement.
The unfair acts against the sympathizers are akin to derailing the revolutionary movement, and hence those people favouring mob trials would be given strict punishment, it said.
The mob trial as such is one of the most uncivilized social practices.
The alleged culprits must be given fair trial and mob justice cannot be the solution to end social vices.
People should have senses and not encourage such unruly practice.
Moreover, people should be cautious against the colonial agents who are trying to ignite fury among innocent people and create havocs in the society, the CorCom added.
