Indefinite bandh along Tengnoupal-Shangshak Road

Imphal, April 18 2013:
Reacting against the alleged silent attitude of the State Government even after repeated appeals to the Chief Minister and the concerned local MLA for maintenance of Tengnoupal -Shangshak road, Kuki Chief Association has decided to impose indefinite bandh along Tengnoupal-Shangshak Road and Shangshak Road Junction to Moreh of NH-2 with effect from midnight of April 19, 2013 .
A decision to this effect was reportedly taken during a joint emergency meeting of Village Chiefs, Student and Youth Leaders of Tengnoupal and Machi Sub-Divisions held at Tengnoupal village today.
Issuing a statement in this regard, Thangbul Haokip, President of Kuki Chiefs' Association, said that the decision to impose indefinite bandh along the said routes with effect from midnight of April 19, 2013 has been taken as there is no other option left.
There would be relaxation of the bandh with regard to education, health, electricity, water supply, religious and customary duties, Thangbul Haokip.
