Imphal, June 20 2015 :
Kuki development council demand committee alleges that the State government is reluctant in solving the problem with underground groups now under suspension of operation.
In a press release the committee stated that it demanded the creation of Kuki development council comprising Churachandpur, Chandel Districts and Sadar Hills portion of Senapati District through a memorandum to the Chief Minister as a final solution with Kuki UGs under SoO.
It stated that the memorandum was submitted on 15th October, 2010 .
The committee also alleged that no positive gesture is visible till date from the government side.
Reminding their demand that the political settlement with the hill based UGs shall be achieved only when the 6th schedule of the Indian Constitution is extended to all the existing 6 autonomous district council with full legislative, financial and executive powers without hurting the territorial integrity of the State, the committee alleged that there is unbalanced development in the hills and valley of Manipur.
The committee along with the general Kuki-Chin-Mizo-Zomi (Khulmi) is constrained to think whether the government of Manipur is really interested in solving the problem with undergrounds under suspension of operation.
