Priority to expedite the common demands and aspirations of the Nagas will be upheld, newly elected Chairman of ADC Ukhrul Dr Yaronsho Ngalun said today, reports Mungchan Zimik.
17 elected members of NPF in alliance with the Independent members have reportedly claimed to form the Autonomous District Council in Ukhrul at the earliest.
NPF has started to hold a co-ordination meeting with the apex bodies of Tangkhul social organizations to ensure smooth functioning of the Council and better execution of developmental works in the district.
While briefing the media persons today, Dr Yaronsho Ngalung assured to lead the Council and the people based on the party's ideology.
Enlightening the elected members on the core issue and demand for early Indo-Naga solution will be a priority, he added.
He said, "The main reason for the economic backwardness and lack of development in the hill districts is because the ADC election was witheld for many years" .
