Phalee Liuwtoh Phanit festival concludes

Phalee Liuwtoh Phanit, the annual seed sowing festival celebrated in Phalee village, Ukhrul district, concluded on Monday.
The last day of the festival, which began from March 16, was celebrated as Cultural Day with cultural performances and exhibition of indigenous foods.
Intending candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha election Dr Alyson Abonmai, who attended the closing ceremony as chief guest, expressed hope that the festival will encourage farmers in enhancing their crop production.
Observing how interior villages like PHalee are facing various' hard ships, he drew attention of the government for taking up development initiatives in the interior parts of the state by bringing modern infrastructure and ensuring basic amenities of life.
He then assured of taking up developmental projects in Phalee village if he wins the 2024 Lok Sabha election and to focus on health, education and road connectivity.
Chingtam Women's Development Association president N Kunjeshori highlighted the issues faced by farmers in hill areas due to lack of access to market and stressed the need for government departments and agencies to work for bridging the gap in order to enhance their income and living standard.
She also appreciated the initiative of the village to celebrate such festival and to uphold tradition and culture.
