Post Graduate Courses at Shija Hospitals

Imphal, November 21 2014 : The National Board of Examination (NBE) which is under Ministry of Health, Government of India has granted approval for accreditation of Shija Hospitals & Research Institute (SHRI), Langol for awarding post graduate Diploma of National Board (DNB) degree in General Medicine with effect from January 2015, said a release.

The approval is granted after a thorough inspection by the experts from the board.

Shija Hospitals is already accredited by NBE for DNB post graduate courses in General Surgery, Anesthesia and Critical Care and Super Specialty course of Plastic Surgery.

This degree is recognized by MCI and they have also laid down standards for examinations conducted in affiliated institutions.

There are seven students from different parts of the country currently pursuing residential post graduate DNB program at SHRI.

Shija Hospitals is the only private hospital having post graduate DNB courses in Manipur.

It is the first centre in Eastern India offering super specialty DNB courses in Plastic Surgery in private sector. It may be noted that two surgeons and six nurses from Monywa General Hospital, Sagaing, Myanmar, successfully completed two months training in September 2014 under 'Shija Overseas Training Program' in Key Hole Surgery, Critical Care and Operation Theatre Technology.

The course was endorsed by Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI) .
