Mayeng Lamjao achieves 95 pc vaccination rate

Imphal, July 18 2021:
In a welcoming report amid the raging second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, Mayeng Lamjao, a village under Hiyanglam assembly constituency in Kakching district, has achieved 95 per cent vaccination rate.
The village has an eligible population of 2200 for vaccination out of which 95 per cent have been inoculated in four vaccination camps held on different dates.
The fourth vaccination camp was held at Lamjao New Primary School on Saturday under the aegis of local MLA Dr Radheshyam Yumnam during which 224 individuals were administered Covid-19 vaccine.
The remaining 5 per cent are those who are either recently infected by Covid-19, out of station and with health conditions not favourable for taking the Covid-19 vaccine.
According to Covid Task Force Lamjao secretary Chandam Jiten, it carried out extensive awareness activities to ensure vaccination of all eligible individuals.
The list of eligible beneficiaries was prepared from the voters' list of the locality.
The task force will take up further initiatives to ensure that all the residents of the village get their vaccine shots, he added.
