Imphal, October 15 2014:
The Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkhai (KISG) and Saikul Area Naga Peoples' Organisation (SANPO) have warned that they would launch a series of agitation if Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam fails to cancel the standing order for police jurisdiction boundary within October.
According to a joint press release signed by Thangkam Lupheng KISG president and Chance Ryankhan SANPO president, Dy CM Gaikhangam had assured in a meeting before the Lok Sabha election 2014 that right after the election, the order of Police Jurisdiction Boundary will be cancelled.
But it is going to be past 10 months from the date of assurance without any positive step being taken up by the authority concerned or the Deputy Chief Minister.
Asking whether the Govt is playing a delaying tactic or neglecting the demand of KISG and SANPO, the two bodies warned that they along with like-minded civil organizations of the State would launch various forms of agitation.
The press release also stated that the meeting held ahead of the Lok Sabha election was attended by IFCD Minister Ngamthang Haokip, Parliamentary Secretary Victor Keishing along with three ADC members where they took the responsibility to fulfil the demand of KISG and SANPO after the Dy CM assurance but they too have failed.
Once again the KISG and SANPO appealed to the Dy CM to fulfill their demands within the current month.
