Singhat MLA shares vision with CSOs, teachers

Singhat (Singngat) MLA Chinlunthang on Friday interacted with civil society organisation leaders and government teachers at the meeting hall of Singngat Government High School.
During the meeting, the MLA highlighted his plan to make Singngat as an education hub with high-quality learning in tune with the modern approach in the backdrop of the various government development schemes coming to the area.
Pointing out various steps he had undertaken for ensuring quality education earlier in Behiang and Khuangkhai areas, MLA Chinlunthang confided about his visions to upgrade Singngat Higher Secondary School to a college by making it function properly and setting up matric and higher secondary examination centres.
Singngat has the potential to accomplish this vision as it has 8 high schools so far and this should be harnessed, he pointed out while appealing to the CSO leaders and government teachers to extend cooperation.
Regarding the issues raised by CSOs pertaining to abolition of appointment of substitute teachers and ensuring proper functioning of government institutions in Singngat by making the SDO to function from Singngat and not from Churachandpur town, the MLA said, "He is at a nascent stage and will take a step-by-step approach" .
A CSO leader, Khaiminthang stressed on the need of presence of government appointed teachers at their place of posting and functioning of SDO at Singngat in order to mitigate the problem faced by of the people of the area.
