Political parties prep for manifestos

Almost all the political parties are preparing to release manifestos for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election by January month next year and seeking input and opinions of public to be incorporated in the manifestos.
As per a party source, the ruling BJP has started collecting written opinions from the public about commitments to be.
placed in its manifesto and preparing to include only the most generalised opinions in the party's manifesto.
The task of collection of written opinions from public had already been entrusted to Mandals of each assembly segment, the source added.
It is also learnt that major political parties like BJP, Indian National Congress (INC) and Communist Party of India (CPI) are preparing to release manifestos for the upcoming election within the month of January next year.
After the visit of BJP president JP Nadda to the state few days back, discussion within the party about the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home minister Amit Shah has begun.
Though the party is yet to furnish exact report to central leaders for the visits, it is likely that PM and Home minister may visit the state in January next year.
On the other hand, INC too has started collecting opinions from public and intellectuals to place the same in party's manifesto for the upcoming election and a manifesto committee has been formed with CWC member Gaikhangam as chairman.
Preparations for the visit of Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have also started.
Meanwhile, CPI Manipur unit too has started discussion about its manifesto for the upcoming election and the party is likely to focus more on issues concerning the state in its manifesto.
