World AIDS Day observed

Kha Manipur Yoga and Nature Cure Association Kakching observed World AIDS Day at Healing Point -IRCA Kakching Chumnang Leikai Machin Manao Chinglak on Thursday.
The programme held under the theme End Inequality, End AIDS' was attended by SP (Kakching) Victoria Yengkhom as chief guest, Kha Manipur Yoga and Nature Cure Association secretary Dr Mayanglambam Rajkumar as president and additional SP Athokpam Romendro as guest of honour with Phidam-IRCA Kakching medical officer Dr Mayanglambam Nishan present as resource person.
As a part of the programme, a quiz competition on AIDS was conducted along with presentation of mementos to SP Victoria Yengkhom and additional SP Athokpam Romendro for their frequent visits to the rehabilitation centre and encouraging the inmates to stay away from addictive substances.
A two-minute silence was also observed for the victims of HIV/AIDS during the programme.
On Wednesday evening candles were also lit at the centre.
Meanwhile, Sanatombi Hindi Mahavidyalaya, Wangbal in Thoubal district, Modern Women & Child Development Association, Wangbal Lamboithong and Centre for Cultural Resource and Eco-Development, Kangjam Uku, Thoubal jointly observed World AIDS Day at the school premises on Wednesday.
In a release, Mahavidyalay secretary Th Shanti Singh stated that the programme was participated by general public along with students from various schools.
As a part of the observance, a free medical camp was conducted with two doctors and three nurses treating and distributing medicines free of cost to the patients, it added.
