Imphal, December 02 2021:
Hung Shidaba Lainingkol (Trust) has raised doubts of any collusion between India or Manipur Government with Myanmar Government regarding border pillar 81 and the subsequent encroachment of the native land of Manipur.
A press release issued by Hung Shidaba Lainingkol today stated that protecting and preserving boundary areas of the native land is the right and responsibility of the people.
If previous Governments had preserved and protected the Indo-Myanmar boundary the present scenario caused by the distortion of the boundary would not occur, the statement added.
Hung Shidaba Lainingkol also informed that the border pillars were moved often which further encroached upon Manipur territory.
Stating that in June 2018, a central survey team was assigned to look into the matter of the controversial border pillars erected along Myanmar Boundary, Hung Shidaba Lainingkol has appealed the survey team to clarify their findings to the people of the State.
Further, it has also questioned the Chief Minister, N Biren Singh's lack of action in the matter despite pledging to stand for the traditional boundary of Manipur preserved by our forefathers.
