AMCTA denies calling any strike

All Manipur College Teachers' Association (AMCTA) has clarified that it has not called for any strike by college teachers and communicated with all unit colleges for ensuring smooth conduct of the on-going classes.
In a release, AMCTA general secretary Dr M Imocha Singh stated that an emergency meeting of AMCTA secretariat was held on Thursday which discussed the steps taken by the government with regard to the clarification on the query of accountant general (AG) Manipur in connection with 7th UGC pay revision as well as perception of college teachers by the public.
College teachers are presently taking both online and offline classes in unit colleges with strivt adherence to Covid Appropriate Behaviour.
A communication in this regard has already been sent to the government colleges affiliated to Manipur University and to the government department concerned, it added.
AMCTA stressed that presently there is no call for any strike or agitation, and as such appealed to all to not to release any statement which shows teachers in bad light! The meeting also affirmed that it has complete faith in the assurance given by the education minister and trust that the government will issue the clarification to the query of AG Manipur by December 10 and resolve the issue of 7th UGC pay of college teachers, it further stated.
