Teachers briefed on purpose of National Education Policy

A special webinar on National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 was organised for teachers of Imphal West district by Sri Aurobindo Society and Samagra Shiksha, Imphal West to orient and to guide them for effective implementation of the new policy.
The webinar was conducted under the nationwide teacher training programme Zero-Investment Innovations for Education Initiatives' (ZIIEI) of Sri Aurobindo Society and HDFC Bank.
Imphal West zonal education officer (Zone I) Sucheta Khumukcham attended the event as chief guest while AI of Schools ZEO Zone-I Dr Elina Soibamcha, Laimayum Rita Devi and national training head Sri Aurobindo Society Ashok Sharma were the special guests.
Expressing her views on the NEP 2020, Sucheta Khumukcham explained that the core objective of any education system is to create well-educated society that is progressive, empathetic and civilised and the new education policy lays emphasis on the same.
"The policy has been formulated with key focus on development of the creative potential of each individual.
Teachers of our country will play a pivotal role in the successful implementation of the policy on the ground level.
Collaborative efforts and focussed mindset will be required to implement the NEP 2020 effectively", she noted.
One of the special guests of the event, Dr Elina Soibamcha said the new education policy with a thrust on experiential learning, aims at fostering holistic development of the students.
"The policy also talks about making learning joyful and engaging in order.
to motivate the students to pursue education with zeal and zest", she said.
Meanwhile, Laimayum Rita stated that teachers as moulders of the future pillars of the society need to understand the new education policy in detail and move forward to implement it.
"India is on the path of progress and we hope that with the new education policy 2020 we can contribute constructively in transforming education", she added.
Speaking at the discourse, Ashok Sharma urged the teachers to participate actively in the webinar and make their best efforts in implementing the policy at the ground level.
He maintained that the new education policy has been designed while keeping in mind the relevance of the present times and is sure to bring about massive positive transformation in the education system of our country.
The detailed orientation session on the National Education Policy 2020 was conducted by master trainer from Sri Aurobindo Society master trainer Rajnish Pandey.
