24th Sr State Basketball Championship : SRWC vs ESU; YPHU vs YC in men's semifinals

Imphal, December 02 2021: The men's semi-final line up of the 24th Sr State Basketball Championship being organised by Manipur Basketball Association at Brahmapur Nahabam Basketball Court was completed today with SRWC, ESU, YPHU and YC making it to the list.

ESU emerged Group B winners to secure the semi-final berth as they thumped YC Uripok 72-52 today in their last league match.

Newton scored the highest 22 for ESU as GA Bash and Y Kaasper added 20 and 16 points.

L Boy (4), Mayarngam (9) and Babloo (1) also contributed to ESU's tally of 72 points.

For YC, Ksh Rakesh made the highest 20 points.

Peter Naorem also scored a double digit score with 11 points in his name.

In an inconsequential Group B league match staged earlier, Chandel BC secured a 58-51 win over WAL Club as Benedict grabbed 32 points and Beningtha added 20 points.

For WAL Club, Basil scored highest 24 but his efforts went in vain as his compatriots could manage only meagre scores.

Later, SRWC which were on high after two successive victories, eased to a 72-48 win over Elite Club and finished Group C winners.

Vishal and Markan played sensitively in this match and added 18 points each to help SRWC enjoy a dominating win today.

Pinku scored another 15 points for the team as Khai Chan Sang and Gideon Hangsing scored 11 points each for the Elite Club.

In another Group C league match, CYLC beat Lamka BC 76-56 as Lamyanba had a game high 28 points and Robertson and Lenin added 21 and 10 points each.

For the Lamka team, Kamlingthang (21) and Siam Muan Mung (14) were the only double digit scorers.

SRWC vs ESU from 3 pm ; YPHU vs YC from 5 pm .
