The bandh was planned to begin from midnight of July 23.According to ATRPFM, it has decided not to go ahead with the bandh "as the State Government has considered their demand regarding transfer and posting of a non-tribal officer" as Director of Tribal Affairs and Hills (TA & Hills) .
"Now, the State Government has transferred and posted a tribal officer as Director, TA & Hills, Manipur.
Hence, the proposed bandh to be imposed by ATRPFM with the cooperation and support of other tribal civil society organisations has been dropped.
