Imphal College celebrates 61st b'day

Imphal, August 20 2013:
The 69th foundation day of Imphal College was celebrated at the college premises here today with Education Minister M Okendro as the Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Okendro said that the State Government is striving to enhance the education sector of the State, especially in Government schools and colleges.
The States hopes to become self-reliant in education one day, he averred.
The State Government under the able guidance of Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has been paying utmost attention to the needs of schools and colleges in the State.
A significant change would be seen in the education sector within a short period, Okendro noted.

He further said that a new scheme called "Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA)" would be implemented by the end of this year to enhance the higher education sector in the country.
The foundation day was attended by Principal of Imphal College Rameshchandra Hamom as the President and Additional Secretary of Higher and Technical Education Kh Raghumani as the Guest of Honour.
The students of the college who have secured positions in the university examination were also felicitated during the function.
