Protest demonstrations against the murder of van driver Okram Gyanendro went on today too.
However, unlike the past two days when the Imphal-Moreh road was blocked completely in Singjamei area, only half of the highway's breadth was blocked today.
This was followed by a public meeting where many speakers solicited launching different forms of agitation if no positive response is received within the three days' time sought by the Govt.Gyanendro was shot dead by some unidentified persons inside his van on the rear seat at Narankonjil Palli on the bank of Chandranadi canal in the afternoon of August 18 .
The JAC constituted in connection with the murder Gyanendro has already submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding punishment of the culprits in befitting manner at the earliest.
The JAC also urged the Government to divulge details of the toy car and toy bus found inside Gyanendro's van which police claimed were fitted with electronic circuit boards used in IEDs.
It is reported that a mega public meeting would be held at Singjamei Super Market tomorrow on the issue of Gyanendro's murder.
