Sadbhavana Diwas observed

In an aim to promote National Integration and Communal Harmony among the people of sections of the society in general and the youths in particular, Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal has observed the SabhavanaDiwas at the Conference Hall of NYK, Mini Secretariat, Thoubal today.
A press release of NYK Thoubal said, the SadbhavanaDiwas was observed on the birth day of Rajiv Gandhi, the Great Son of India who carried forward the vision and dream as cherished by Mahatma Gandhi.
The motto of the observation is to bring harmony among all people irrespective of religion, language, caste and to eschew violence of all forms.
A Kunjabihari Singh, District Employment Officer; Th Nilakumar Singh, District Social Welfare Officer; and N Satyavama Devi, DPO ICDS graced the observance of the day as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively, it added.
Floral tribute and Sadbhavana Day pledge were administered by the president of the function which was participated by officials from the Mini Sacretariat, youth leaders and women.
As a part of the observance, tree saplings will be planted by the youth clubs, mentor youth clubs and National Youth Corps in all the Blocks of the district.
These planted trees will be called as SadbhavanaVriksh, the release stated.
Meanwhile, NYK Imphal has also observed Sadbhavana Diwas along with youth clubs, leaders, social workers, NYC volunteers, NYK staffs etc at DC office building in Imphal West today.
The main objective of the programme is to promote peace, love and goodwill among the people.
A separate press release of NYK Imphal said, floral tribute was paid to the photograph of Rajiv Gandhi and tree plantation drive was conducted from August 15-20 under the theme 'My Earth my duty' in different places of Imphal West District in coordination with mentors clubs, youth development centres, Red Ribbon Clubs and other affiliated clubs of the District.
About 756 tree saplings were planted in the plantation drive, it added.
Also, NYK Imphal East has observed it today at DRDA Hall Porompat and about 732 tree saplings were planted in different places of the District.
