Lamka, July 13 2014:
Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF), one of the signatories of Suspension of Operation (SoO) and an armed wing of the United People's Front (UPF), has urged the Central and State Govt to conduct a joint verification cum inspection of the proposed KNLF designated camp at Semol in Chandel district.
Speaking to media persons last night, KNLF Secretary LM Haokip alias Lalmoi Haokip said that construction of the outfit's designated camp commenced on May 10 last with its own expense and it is set to complete soon.
He said that all the 40 cadres of the outfit are engaged in the construction work.
While acknowledging the assistance rendered by the neighbouring villagers, Haokip also said that the 6 Dogra Regiment has been providing security to them.
The cadres have been relocated to the present camp after staying at an AR camp for six months.
Saying that the cadres felt relief staying at their present camp, LM Haokip added that harbouring them there could be counted as a part of rehabilitation package.
As such, the Govt should give its approval and ensure the completion of the construction work, he said while urging the Govt to conduct a joint verification and inspection at the earliest.
