Imphal, July 13 2014:
The NSCN-IM has strongly condemned the alleged intrusion and ransacking of their regional office by the State forces close on the hills of the killing of Ngalangzar at Finch Corner, Ukhrul district yesterday by some unidentified gunmen.
A statement issued by the outfit's MIP maintained that the killing of Ngalangzar has nothing to do with NSCN-IM.
"The Manipur state forces without giving any second thought has indiscriminately intruded and ransacked our regional office and has arrested four of our cadres along with seven people who are kept in our custody for various rehabilitation purposes", it said.
Besides, many important documents relating to the administrative nature and kitchen utensils have been taken away.
Such unwarranted actions will have far reaching consequences, the outfit asserted.
Citing the Mao incident of 2010, the outfit said that violation of human rights in the land of Nagas by any forces will no longer be tolerated.
"NSCN with the support of the Naga people will go to any extent to protect our rights and dignity as a people", read the press statement.
The attack on the office which has been created in order to facilitate people's participation in the Indo-Naga peace process is tantamount to breaking the spirit of cease fire, detrimental to regional peace and stability.
Blaming the State Government for militarization of Ukhrul headquarters by imposing 144 CrPC without any valid reason, it alleged that the State Government has been scheming to sabotage the ongoing peace process and find reason to station their notorious Manipur police commandos who are always in the news for encounter killings.
The imposition of 144 CrPC in Ukhrul town manned by thousands of combat forces has created a deep sense of fear psychosis to the denizens of Ukhrul town.
Church goers are forced to stay indoors and thus totally disengaging the Christian mass services.
This has also deeply hurt the sentiments of Nagas who are 99 per cent Christians.
Strongly condemning the policies and actions of the alleged selective and communal Government headed by Ibobi and Gaikhangam, NSCN-IM demanded immediate release of all the innocent Nagas in their custody and return every files, documents and utensils stolen from their office.
