State receives five Van Dhan Annual Awards

The state has received five awards under the Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojna (PMVDY) during the first Van Dhan Annual Award-2020- 21 presentation organised virtually by Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs on the occasion of 34th foundation day of TRIFED.
The awards were presented by Union tribal minister Arjun Munda to the state in the categories of Most Pro-Active State, Best Digital Friendly State, Best Sales Generated (2nd Place), Most Number of Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Established (2nd Place) and Best Traifting (2nd Place).
On top of these awards, the State Van Dhan Awards (North Eastern Region) were awarded to Kasom Khullen Phungrum VDVK and Kamjong VDVK of Kamjong district, and Rani Gaidinliu VDVK of Noney district in the category of Scope of Operation; Dzilimosa VDVK (Senapati), Hungpung Kaziphung VDVK (Ukhrul) and Rani Gaidinliu VDVK in the category of Maximum Sales Generated; and Churachandpur VDVK, Dzilimosa VDVK arid Kamjong VDVK in the category of Range Of Value Added Items.
Rani Gaidinliu VDVK also received the award in the category of Procurement Under MSP for MFP Scheme, while Hungphung VDVK, Churachandpur VDVK and DADA Senapati were awarded in the category of Innovation and Creative Marketing Idea.
It may be mentioned that 139 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVK) have been established in 14 Manipur Forest Divisions from 2019-20 under which 3320 self-help groups have been formed and provided opportunities to 41,908 tribal entrepreneurs.
The VDVKs have been producing items which are sold not only in the state but also exported and till now Rs 190 lakh worth of products have been sold by them.
