MEEU warns of agitation

Demanding the State Government to ensure employees of MSPCL, MSPDCL and EDM get the 7th revised pay and relevant benefits, Manipur Electricity Employees' Union has warned of different forms of agitation if their demands are not met within December 15 .
Speaking to media persons at the Manipur Electricity Employees' Union's office at Keishampat today, general secretary of the union T Shyamnagor said that the employees of MSPCL, MSPDCL and EDM should be provided revised pay in line with the 7th Central Pay Commission (ROP 2019) .
Demanding release of salary for the employees of MSPCL, MSPDCL and EDM employees within the first week of every month, he also urged the State Government to ensure social security scheme (SSS), retirement benefits and 13 months salary to the employees.
If the State Government fails to consider their demands within December 15, the union will launch a series of agitation, he continued.
The union has repeatedly submitted representations to all concerned in this regard, however the union has not received any positive response till date and as such the union has decided to launch agitation if the Government fails to pay heed to their demands, he added.
