Imphal, December 05 2020:
The All Manipur Rickshaw Drivers' and Pullers' Welfare Association (AMRDPWA) has denounced the JNIMS authority for ignoring their request for assistance to one Thokchom Kiran who is undergoing treatment at the hospital's Ortho Ward.
In a statement today, the association said Thokchom Kiran, a member of Nupilal Rickshaw Parking Committee is receiving treatment at the Ortho Ward JNIMS since December 1 and the association had requested the JNIMS Director to provide assistance.
Even though the JNIMS Director had given his signature and sent the file concerned to the Finance Department, the process is stuck.
The file is still lying at the table of the Finance Department, asserted the association.
After repeated attempts to meet officer in-charge of the Finance Department, the members of the association met one official.
However, the officer claimed that she is not able to do anything regarding the request as it lacks the "directive" of the JNIMS Director.
Regarding treatment of the patient (Th Kiran), the association said a CT scan was taken today instead of MRI advised by the doctors.
As the members of the association had already paid fees for MRI, they requested the counter to refund the excess amount.
But, they were told to get approval of the Medical Superintendent.
They couldn't get the approval as the Medical Superintendent was not in office at the time, said the association.
Expressing dissatisfaction about the functioning of JNIMS, the association said the poor service at the hospital has burdened the patient party.
