FH denounces

Members of the Federation of Haomee (FH) staged a sit-in protest near MBC Church gate today denouncing disturbances in the efforts to protect Koubru hills as a sacred site.
During the protest, youth wing volunteers of the federation raised slogans that the Koubru should be kept as a sacred site and all should refrain from cultivating poppies in the hills.
Moreover, any KNF (P) camp on the hills should be removed, they said.
Speaking to media persons, youth wing general secretary, N Mapari said that the Government should protect the Koubru hill range and preserve the cultural and historical heritage of the indigenous people.
The Koubru hill is an integral part of the history and culture of the indigenous people of Manipur.
The Federation of Haomee condemns any form of disturbance from 'outsiders' in the efforts to preserve and protect the hill range, he said.
He appealed to the Government to take up proactive steps to preserve and protect the Koubru hill range.
