Charge-sheets likely soon

Thoubal Police and Kakching Police are likely to file charge-sheets for the murder cases of Takhellambam (O) Binita and Sapam (N) Ichal shortly.
Takhellambam (O) Binita (18) of Thoubal Wangmataba was found hung to death in a bamboo grove with injury marks on the stomach on February 6 this year.
In connection with the death of Binita, Thoubal Police registered a case under FIR 28/2/2014 and charged Binita's husband Takhellambam Akash alias Manao (20), Binita's third mother-in-law T Ronibala, father-in-law T Kumar and Akash's elder brother T Amarjit under IPC Sections 498-A/302/201/120-B/34.All four accused are under judicial custody.
Due preparations to file charge-sheets against them are almost complete, said one officer of Thoubal Police.
Sapam Ichal was reportedly found dead at her husband's home on March 7 at Koijam Khunou Maring Khul under Kakching police station.
In connection with the death of Ichal, Kakching police registered FIR No 34(3)-2014 and Ichal's husband Rupkar Maringchin Maring and her father-in-law R James were charged under IPC Sections 306/498-A/34.The two accused are currently under judicial custody.
According to the concerned IO, the death of Ichal was assumed as unnatural death and due investigation was done after registering an FIR.
The investigation process is nearing completion and charge-sheet would be filed very soon, said the IO.
Meanwhile, a public meeting was held today at Langthabal Khunou.
It demanded establishment of facts and circumstances leading to the death of Ichal.
