Speaking on the occasion, Wareppa Naba observed that there has been lack of appreciation and recognition of Khongjom Parva by the people of the State despite its historical values and informed that the Khongjom Parva was composed as a tribute to the battle of Khongjom.
He pointed out that the Khongjom Parva has been considered as one of the oldest traditional music forms of the State although it is just around 100 years old and added that younger generation needs to promote and preserve the art form.
While appealing to all the exponents of Khongjom Parva to further enrich the art form besides performing it, he called upon the people of the State to extend co-operation and support to those who have been working hard to enhance the art form.
