Every district to have a court

Imphal, March 23 2014:
Acting Chief Justice of Manipur High Court Laxmikanta Mohapatra has said that every district of the State would have a court within few years.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of the inaugural function of the first anniversary celebration of Manipur High Court held at its complex located at Mantripukhri here today.
Justice Mohaptra further said that the building of Manipur High Court is one of the finest court buildings in the country, but its most important responsibility is to deliver justice to the people.
Chief Minister and Advocate General of the State are also working hard for the development of the High Court, he noted.
Every district of the State would have all required courts within few years.
There would be Session Judges for Thoubal and Churachandpur by the end of April next month.
The courts would provide legal services easily to the people in remote parts of the State, the CJ said.
He also appealed to the members of Bar Association to render utmost cooperation in delivering justice to the people.
The inaugural function was also attended by Justice N Kotiswar, former Chief Justice of Gauhati Court RK Manisana, Chairman of Assam Human Rights Commission Dr Aftab H Saikia, Advocate General of Manipur Th Ibohal and President of All Manipur Bar Association Khaidem Mani.
The first anniversary of Manipur High Court would be celebrated till March 30 .
